About Ellis Fall Safety Solutions

Ellis Fall Safety Solutions, LLC is a company comprised of fall safety professionals who are experienced in all facets of protection engineering. Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, our organization was founded by J. Nigel Ellis, Ph.D., CSP, P.E., CPE. Our centralized focus is on developing safety solutions that aid our students in learning the best safety methods and preventative steps that are needed at elevated heights.

Our goal is to go beyond basic safety measures in order to uncover any potential roadblocks that may exist as employees strive to work safely using their required equipment. We have more than 35 years of experience and we have since our inception, trained more than 20,000 managers and their employees on the basic tenets of fall protection procedures and techniques since 1970.

Celebrating Our Founder:
J. Nigel Ellis, Ph.D., CSP, P.E., CPE

Dr. Ellis, founder and CEO, is an active member of the Z359 committee and has been intimately involved in the newly approved revisions and additions to the Z359 Fall Protection Code. In 2007, the National Safety Council (NSC) awarded its Distinguished Service to Safety Award to Dr. Ellis. The award, presented during the National Safety Councils 95th Annual Congress and Expo, is the highest honor bestowed on an individual safety professional in recognition of outstanding service to the field of safety. In June 2010, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) bestowed its coveted Fellow Honor Award to Dr. Ellis for Lifetime achievement in Safety. Dr. Ellis is the author of “Introduction to Fall Protection”, now in its 4th Edition – widely accepted as the authoritative desktop reference for fall protection.
